Spence Heard Pass
Florida PDCA President 1981 - 1982
PASS, SPENCE HEARD, passed peacefully on February 3, 2010 in his home in Miami Springs at the age of 89 with his wife and daughter at his side. He's survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Pass, son Bill Pass (Terry), Orlando, daughters Anita Swanson (John), New Hampshire and Donna Pass-Otteni
(Ben), Virginia, 8 Grand Children and 8 Great Grand Children. He served in
the Army Air Corps as a radio operator and gunner on board a B-24 in the
Pacific during WWII. He started a painting company in Miami in 1945 which
grew to one of the largest in the Southeast with an International Branch
where he did extensive work in the Panama Canal Zone. He was very active
in the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America serving in many
positions including President of the Florida Chapter. He was a member
of the Mahi Shrine Temple. He served as a Captain of the Patrol and as
a Director of the Royal Order of the Jesters. His favorite pastime was
spending time at his second home in Tavernier on the Keys, with "his baby"
poodle "Peaches" at his side. He always enjoyed playing cards and fishing.
He spent time this past Christmas season in Virginia with all of his
children for which they will be eternally grateful. He was so dearly
loved by all of his family. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems
the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
The Family suggests donations to the Shriner's Children's Hospital of
Tampa or the Boys and Girls Clubs of Miami. Family will receive friends
at 3:00 PM at the Mahi Shrine Temple 1480 NW North River Drive. Miami.
Arrangements by John Hanks Memorial Services. (305) 885-1937. View this

Our condolences to the Pass family from all the members of the Florida PDCA family.
